Skye's Safe Space
My sister has been the greatest person in my entire life, we grew up together and I don't know anyone with a heart as pure as her. She is my safe space and I am happy to be by her side, Sun and I have always been close, and we have been through so much together. I love my sis so much, she is special. She was always a talented artist since she was little, and she was my biggest support during childhood. We are best friends.
ABOUT
Surviving psychosis and a traumatic event can be very hard and difficult to deal with. Usually, victims of accidents and abuse who survive carry enormous feelings of guilt, and I am one of them. I am grateful to my psychiatrist and my therapist for helping me deal with all this, they have helped me through these years of recovery. I am also grateful to the mental hospital that treated me during my moments of crisis.
Please keep in mind that if this worked for me, it doesn’t mean it should work for you. Everyone is different and that’s okay! I’ve been in recovery for over three years and still have a long way to go. If you’re feeling suicidal and need help right now, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline in the U.S. at 1-800-273-8255.
MY MENTAL HEALTH
I am currently diagnosed with PTSD, schizoaffective disorder, and major depression. I have had a rough life, but I am genuinely happy to still be here and still in recovery. And I am even happier to be with my sis creating things together. She has been the best thing that has ever happened to me in this world. Sun is someone sensitive and sweet! and she is talented. I watched her grow up and I am proud of that. There are days when even with my meds I still feel pretty sad and down, but she is always there to cheer me up.
And of course I have Midnight! She is my emotional support animal and she has helped me a lot these years, she has given me peace and calm and she has also brought me happiness. I always recommend everyone to have an emotional support animal, if you can get one, definitely don't miss that opportunity! I'm sure that a puppy or a kitten will help you improve your mental health. They are such beautiful and wonderful beings that the happiness they give you is priceless.
